Funky Frog was inspired by one of Teegan's favourite French cafés in her hometown. The focus is for students to develop string crossings whilst holding fingers on the string and playing an open string in between (the jumping frog) as well as development of F- and C-naturals accidentals (the ‘funky’), as well as C-sharps on the G string in the Violin II part. There is some healthy arco and pizzicato interplay between all five parts in the final section of the piece, encouraging students to count their rests like never before!
